So, I have this friend. He’s a silly friend. He teaches a class in structural fire protection engineering at a university in the United States. Each year he holds an exam that’s filled with questions involving daunting mathematical calculations. The first problem, however, is to draw a duck.
He then holds an adjudication for all the ducks submitted and for the last two years he has invited me to be a guest judge and offer a prize for the winner. This year, I thought it would be nice to make a donation to the Little Fireface Project in the winner’s name! The submissions this year were just ducky! They ranged from artistic masterpieces to scribbles that make you wonder whether the artist has ever even seen a duck. I judged the submissions on a scale of how much they made me laugh. My choice for winning duck is pictured below (it was the duck foot tail that did it for me) and the winner has chosen to adopt Fernando!
Behold, in all its glory…
