Hello, I am Ranim, a student majoring in Forest Resources Conservation and Ecotourism at IPB University. Previously, I had an internship at the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) Way Kambas Landscape. I started my internship at LFP in May and I would like to share my valuable experience during my internship.
I interned at LFP for 3 months as a research assistant and gained much experience there. My job as a research assistant was to observe the Javan Slow Loris at night. For people who like night activities, I highly recommend interning at LFP as a research assistant. Not only do field activities, but I also participate in other LFP activities such as school visits and conservation campaigns at Garut’s town square. Here I was taught many things such as observation methods, the use of VHF radio tracking equipment, data collection, and even conservation education. In addition, during the night observations I was presented with views of the Garut city lights and a sky full of stars.
Observing the Javan slow loris as an endemic animal of West Java is something I am grateful for, but I feel more grateful for meeting the great people at LFP. I met Prof Anna Nekaris OBE, project leader, staff, local guide (trackers), researchers, and other interns like me. They were all very kind and taught me many things. I always remember every moment here.
Hallo, saya Ranim mahasiswa jurusan Konservasi Sumberdaya Hutan dan Ekowisata IPB University. Sebelumnya saya pernah magang di Wildlife Conservation Socity (WCS) Lanskap Way Kambas.
