*Toad* you you had a blog coming from resident herpetologist, Nabil! Our new Research Assistant is ready and raring to go, eager to learn about all aspects of Cipaganti wildlife. Enough from me, take it away, Nabil…
Let me introduce myself
Hello folks! I am Ahmad Nabil Faturahman, the new Research Assistant in LFP. I just completed my bachelor’s degree in 2019 earlier this year, fresh from the bake. My research was mainly focused on herpetology. I learned about their morphology and physiology according to its shape and function, their mating behaviour, and their phylogeny. My experience working with reptiles and amphibians sparks my curiosity about mammals, hence why I am really excited to begin my journey here in LFP.
My job at LFP
So far at LFP, I am involved in the Coffee Program. I have been given the responsibility to do the line transect for insects in the coffee farm. Identifying the insects is important for the Coffee Program because insect is the main pollinator of the coffee.
There are so many things I am looking forward to do in LFP. I am curious about the home range of slow lorises. I have seen they fight because their home range are overlapped, and I think it is going to be interesting to do a research on that topic in the future. In addition to the Coffee Program, I want to find out which insect has the biggest impact for the growth of coffee beans. I also hope I can do a survey of reptile and amphibians in Cipaganti.
