Welcome to our downloads and schedule page for SLOW 2021 – Slow (and Slender) Loris Outreach Week 2021 – 11-17th October! Our SLOW week is in its 10th amazing year, and to celebrate, we have several activities planned and lots of downloads below!
Our Schedule
9th October: its a pre-SLOW celebration! We will be running an Oxford Brookes Science Bazaar Saturday, providing children with a tour of our field site and chance to meet slow loris researchers. Register here to learn more about the Secret Life of the Slow Loris
11th October: Our LFP Director Prof Anna Nekaris and two of our researchers, Dr Marco Campera and Dr Michela Balestri, will present ten years of Little Fireface Project at Oxford Brookes Primate Conservation Seminar series. The seminar will be streamed live on Facebook here.
12th October: Our recent research on slow loris bridges (you can read our latest papers free to download here and here) will be re-broadcast by the BBC World Service here!
14th October: Our LFP Etsy Shop will be live at Oxford Brookes University
16th October: SLOW Virtual Loris Conservation Conference
Join us for our second ever SLOW online conference, celebrating ten years of Little Fireface Project via the power of ZOOM! You can book your tickets here.

- Ahmad Ardiansyah – Ten years of data on wildlife trade in Indonesia and its implications
- Dr Muhammad Ali Imron – the importance of Java for conservation biology and lorises in Cipaganti and Kemuning as a case in point
- Kim Feddema – LFP’s achievements tackling online trade
- Dr Johanna Rode-Margono – reflections on being the first LFP researcher
- Katey Hedger – what we can learn from a ten year dataset – about lorises and running conservation programmes
- Dr Stephanie Poindexter – lessons learned from LFP and developing loris studies in other Asian countries

What can you do?
Wherever you are, you can support Little Fireface Project by asking your local cafe to donate 10p of every latte sold on one of the days of SLOW 2021 to help loris conservation! Proceeds will go to our Enterprise Network Coffee Project, supporting farmers to grow shade trees on their land providing canopy continuity for wildlife. Our wonderful supporters Memphis Zoo and Moody Gardens Zoo have already made this model work – it is a great way to educate people about the importance of wildlife friendly standards and loris conservation!
Visit Peppermint Narwhal’s Etsy shop and pick up a pin version of the loris in the cute coffee logo! Peppermint Narwhal have been supporting animal conservation for a number of years, and this year designed some special pins to support animal conservation, including Javan slow loris!
Do you have skills that can help LFP in our mission? For example, Soto Design in Bristol have generously given their time to help make our Wildlife Friendly Coffee brand a reality!
We have teamed up with Avery and Masa, a Javan slow loris and a red panda whose goal is to be protectors of the endangered! Download their Java Lava pack and celebrate SLOW 2021 in Avery and Masa style!
We all know selfies with wild animals are a big no-no, so like our coffee programme, we have made them #WildlifeFriendly!
